Serious allergic reactions result in anaphylaxis, a life-threatening emergency. This class teaches the causes of severe allergic reactions, how to recognize and treat anaphylaxis, the use of auto-injectors, legal considerations for administering epinephrine, and how to prepare for an anaphylactic emergency.
Epinephrine auto-injectors are safe and easy to use, but require
training to use properly. There are also several devices on the market,
each requiring different technique.
The course is approximately one hour long and includes both lecture and
hands-on practice.
